These Terms & Conditions apply to all vehicle rentals made with Caribbean Rentals through the website, by email, telephone, social media, or direct booking.
By confirming a reservation, the renter declares to have read, understood, and accepted these terms.

Definitions
In these Terms & Conditions:
- Caribbean Rentals: the vehicle rental company operating in Bonaire.
- Vehicle: any car, pick-up truck, or other vehicle offered for rent.
- Renter: the person or legal entity entering into the rental agreement.
- Additional Driver: any driver specifically approved and listed in the agreement.
- User: any other person using the vehicle under renter’s responsibility.
- Rent: the agreed rental amount.
- Total Amount: rent plus all other applicable charges.
- Rental Agreement: the reservation confirmation and related rental contract.
- Damage: any loss, theft, repair cost, downtime, lost income, replacement, towing, or related expense.
- In Writing: by email, website confirmation, WhatsApp, or paper.

Applicability
These Terms apply to all offers, bookings, rentals, and services.
Any deviations are only valid if confirmed in writing by Caribbean Rentals.
Caribbean Rentals reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time.

Nature of the Rental
All rentals are short-term vehicle rentals.
Special requests, vehicle preferences, colors, or exact models are subject to availability and are only binding after written confirmation.
Requests to modify a reservation after confirmation may be accepted at our discretion and may incur additional fees.

Prices & Rates
All website prices are shown in USD unless stated otherwise and are exclusive of ABB (6%), insurance upgrades, fuel differences, fines, damages, and optional extras.
Pricing errors, omissions, or technical mistakes do not bind Caribbean Rentals.

Cancellations & Refunds
Cancellations must be made in writing via email or whatsapp of Caribbean Lofts Bonaire
Our cancellation policy:
- Payment is due when the reservation is made. In case of cancellation more than 30 days before arrival, you will receive a 75% refund. In case of cancellation less than 30 days before arrival or a no show, no refund will be given.
- No refunds will be issued for early departures, no-shows, or eviction due to policy violations.

Reservations
Reservations are valid only after written confirmation.
The renter must:
- be at least 22 years old
- hold a valid driver’s license for at least 3 full years
- present valid identification at pick-up
Caribbean Rentals reserves the right to refuse unusual or high-risk reservations.
Confirmed reservations are binding.

Rental Period
Vehicles are rented per 24-hour day.
Every part of an extra day is charged as a full rental day.
Early returns are non-refundable.
Late returns are charged at the regular daily rate, and a late return fee may apply.
Extensions must be approved before the original return time.

Authorized Drivers
Only the renter and registered additional drivers may operate the vehicle.
The renter remains fully responsible for all authorized and unauthorized use.

Payment
All rent, insurance upgrades, deposits, deductibles, extensions, and other charges are due at pick-up unless prepaid.
Any later-arising charges remain payable immediately.

Vehicle Availability & Force Majeure
If the reserved vehicle is unavailable, Caribbean Rentals may provide a comparable or higher-category replacement at no additional charge.
We may cancel or modify a reservation in cases of force majeure, extreme weather, operational necessity, unsafe use, fraud suspicion, or contract violations.
Any refund in such cases is limited to the unused rental period only.

Mandatory Liability Insurance
All vehicles carry the legally required third-party liability insurance under the applicable BES motor insurance laws.
Anything not covered under statutory liability remains the renter’s responsibility unless covered by a purchased waiver.

Damage Waiver Options
CDW – Collision Damage Waiver
- deductible: USD 500
- covers collision damage only
- excludes tires, rims, windows, windshield, key, immobilizer
SCDW – Super Collision Damage Waiver
- deductible: USD 100
- includes tires, rims, windshield, and windows
- security deposit: USD 100
- excludes lost key and immobilizer
The waiver becomes void in case of negligence, prohibited use, intoxication, traffic violations, unauthorized drivers, or failure to report incidents.
A police report is mandatory for theft or accident claims. This must be obtained by calling Road Service at: +599 717 9292.

Damage, Theft, Loss & Incidents
The renter must immediately notify Caribbean Rentals of:
- accidents
- damage
- theft
- loss
- vandalism
- police involvement
- mechanical issues
The renter must also contact local police immediately where required.
Failure to do so voids all damage waiver coverage.

Pick-up & Return
Pick-up and return are available during business hours: 08:00–21:00.
The renter must be present in person unless otherwise agreed.
A vehicle inspection is mandatory at both pick-up and return.
The vehicle must be returned:
- free of excessive sand
- with the same fuel level
- in the same condition
- with all accessories
If the renter refuses inspection, all discovered damages become fully chargeable.

Use Restrictions & Guest Responsibilities
The renter must treat the vehicle as a prudent renter.
The following rules strictly apply:
- No smoking → cleaning fee USD 250
- No pets → cleaning fee USD 250
- No wet/sandy clothing, dive suits, dive tanks, or dive gear in regular cars → cleaning fee USD 250
- Only pick-up trucks may be used for diving gear
- No towing another vehicle
- Washington Slagbaai access only with approved vehicles
- No subletting
- Always lock the vehicle and close windows
- No valuables left unattended
- Please use correct fuel→ wrong fuel fee USD 350 + damages
Lost key or immobilizer fee: USD 500.
Flat tire repair/replacement is the renter’s responsibility unless roadside assistance was purchased.
Traffic fines, towing, and penalties remain the renter’s responsibility.
Caribbean Rentals may repossess the vehicle immediately in case of misuse.

Liability Disclaimer
Caribbean Rentals is not liable for:
- pricing or website errors
- trip interruptions
- missed flights
- personal injury not caused by gross negligence
- loss, theft, or damage to renter belongings
- indirect or consequential damages

Collection Costs
All charges become immediately due when incurred.
Late payments incur 1.5% interest per month.
Any legal or collection costs, including attorney fees, are fully recoverable from the renter.

Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms and all rental agreements are governed by the laws of Bonaire, Caribbean Netherlands.
The competent court in Bonaire has exclusive jurisdiction over disputes.

By completing a booking through the website or signing the rental agreement at pick-up, the renter confirms:
